2019 Board of Trustees Voting

One of the easiest ways for you to have a voice in the cooperative is to participate in the election of the Butler Rural Electric Cooperative Board of Trustees. Trustees are members of the cooperative just like you and serve as the voice of the membership.

Seven Cooperative Principles set Butler Rural Electric Cooperative apart from other utilities and businesses. These principles lead the cooperative to do business in a better way every single day. The second cooperative principle is “Democratic Member Control.” This principle states that members vote for trustees who represent them on the board of trustees, which governs the cooperative. Beginning this year, Butler Rural Electric Cooperative members will have the opportunity to vote online, by mail, or at the annual meeting. These voting options
ensure that all members have a voice in the democratic process of their cooperative.

Three board seats are up for election in 2019. Click here to view information about the members running for Butler Rural Electric Cooperative’s Board of Trustees. Members can vote for one candidate in each district up for election.
