Effective Rebate Dates: January 1, 2026, through December 31, 2026.

The installation of a new electric water heater in a home, office or other building which uses
electricity from Butler Rural Electric Cooperative qualifies for a rebate. The new water heater may be
placed in a new or existing building.

Specific Requirements
Qualified Equipment and Installation

a. An electric water heater for original installation (in new construction) or that replaces an existing water heater.

b. The water heater must be a new electric storage tank unit that is greater than 90% efficient (greater than 0.90 EF).

c. Heat pump water heater must be new unit with a storage volume of 55 gallons or less.

d. The water heater shall comply with all applicable local and Ohio plumbing and electrical code requirements.

Eligibility For Rebate
1. The building must be a residential, commercial, or industrial structure which uses electricity from Butler Rural Electric Cooperative.

2. Rebate is to be paid to the cooperative member who owns the building, or for new construction, the rebate can be paid to the builder/dealer.

Conditions of Rebate
1. On-demand water heaters are not eligible for this program.

2. The installation of the water heater must be approved by the cooperative.

3. A maximum of two rebates may be paid per residential member home.
