Scam Alert

We have received calls from members on Little Turtle Road, Black Road, Indian Creek Trail, and Treaty Court stating salespeople are visiting their homes saying they work for the electric company and need to check their electric meter, want to discuss their electric use, or want to discuss installing solar. Butler Rural Electric Cooperative employees follow these guidelines to keep members safe:

⚠️ Our employees wear clothing and drive vehicles clearly marked with Butler Rural Electric Cooperative logos. Employees also carry badges stating they work for the cooperative.
⚠️ We will schedule an appointment with you if we need to enter your home to upgrade or replace equipment.
⚠️ We send emails, letters, and text messages to members if we need to be on your property to complete work, like meter testing.
⚠️ If someone is on your property without proper identification claiming to be from your electric company, call 911.
