As your local power provider, Butler Rural Electric Cooperative’s mission has always been simple: keep the lights on and support the communities we serve.
Colder weather typically results in higher energy bills and, with winter in full swing, we’d like to remind you about a co-op service that can help you boost efficiency and save money.
Across the U.S., the demand for power is climbing at one of the fastest rates in decades. As the economy becomes more reliant on electricity and data centers continue to sprout up in many parts of the country, electric cooperatives are preparing to meet the challenges that skyrocketing demand brings.
Our unique business model sets Butler Rural Electric Cooperative apart from other utilities. Capital credits serve as a benefit to members and represent your stake and investment in the cooperative. These credits are important to funding crucial elements such as poles, wires, transformers, and other essential infrastructure, all of which contribute to the long-term strength and reliability of the cooperative.
When outdoor temperatures drop, electricity use naturally rises. Colder weather drives us indoors, where we rely more heavily on home heating systems, more lighting, and household appliances. Heating systems run longer and more frequently to maintain comfortable indoor temperatures. Combine that with the fact that most people use electricity at the same times - typically in the mornings and early evenings - and the result is significant pressure on our electric grid.
Butler Rural Electric Cooperative was recently recognized by Touchstone Energy® as a member cooperative that received one of the top 5 American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI®) scores for energy utility services among all cooperatives participating.
Each decision, whether it’s about delivering reliable electricity, innovating for the future, or advocating for smart energy policies that impact our local community, comes back to one simple question: How will this benefit our members?
